The Sumatran Tiger's Habitat
Like all animal species, the Sumatran tiger needs a stable, comfortable habitat to survive in. Like many animals, the Sumatran tiger can be found in different biomes and terrains, due to their territory choice.
Bamboo Forest:
A dense array of tall bamboo shoots is one of the Sumatran Tiger's main habitats. The thick bamboo provides coverage, and blocks the tiger's scent while hunting. The light that shines through the plants creates a dappled-orange effect, helping the tiger blend in.

Rainforest:
Overflowing with small mammals, the Asian rainforest is the perfect habitat for a Sumatran tiger. The tiger wouldn't have to worry about water, due to the frequent rainfall, and prey is almost always present.

Freshwater Swamps.
Because Sumatran tigers love water, this is an ideal habitat. The tigers that live near freshwater swamps will resort to eating fish if prey is scarce, keeping them alive until the other animals return. Also, one of the tiger's main hunting tactics is driving fast prey into water, slowing them down. |
Lakes/Rivers:
If the tiger is prepared to watch out for alligators, lakes and rivers can provide the Sumatran tiger with plentiful fresh water and an abundance of prey. Animals will come down to the water's edge to drink, leaving them undefended. The tiger will then come up behind the animal and pounce, leaving it's prey with no escape.
