Future Tiger
The Sumatran tiger's habitat is constantly changing. Global warming and pollution are destroying their homes and territories. In about 1,000 years, (if Sunatran Tigers aren't extinct by then) I think that tigers would look something like this...
Due to global warming, the tiger will become fully nocturnal, due to immense heat in the day. At night, the temperature would drop dramatically, so the Sumatran tiger would have an even thicker layer of fur.
Because animal life would be less common, the tiger would grow smaller, to the size of a young cheetah. This means that the animal needs less food to survive.
The dark colouring is to help the tiger camouflage in the night.
The metallic effect is caused by the oils in the fur. This quality could help the tiger blend in with the wet plants in the moonlight. This would be extremely helpful while hunting Scraphoppers, it's natural prey. Scraphoppers closely resemble rabbits and are very timid.

The animal has larger pupils that allow it to see several kilometres in the dark. The Sumatran tigers would usually have blue eyes, but rarely the genes will cause green eyes and a reddish pelt.
The Sumatran tiger's weapons will now be mostly directed against humans, as opposed to other tigers. The claws would become longer and more hooked, and the teeth would become larger and thicker.
